Titled: My Worst Horse Purchase EVER Was:

1. A “well trained” mare that was saddled and ready to go when we went to try her. Later, when we tried to put a bit in her mouth, she almost flipped over backward. We couldn’t saddle her either. We wound up trading her for a horse with ACTUAL training!

2. A quiet gelding who was attractive, except for being thin. Once I brought him home and fattened him up, his energy level shot up. He turned out to be way too much for me to handle!

3. A lovely Bay Tennessee Walker Horse who had been drugged. He rode beautifully the night I bought him, but the next day I couldn’t even get him saddled!

4. A mare I bought from a “rescue” organization was a registered Paint, and I paid top dollar for her. I was told that her papers would ‘arrive’ soon. I called the rancher who bred her….he said he’d never been paid for her. I’ll never see the papers!

5. A horse I bought without getting a signed agreement regarding a vet check. The owner had said if the horse didn’t pass the exam I could return it for a full refund. But when the horse failed, the owner denied EVERYTHING. I was stuck with an unsound horse
